Construction details of the station wall

by Russ Elliott
This is a straightforward plasticard job, using Slaters Flemish bond embossed sheet. Actually, we think the bonding on such a wall should have been English bond, but that was not available at the time of constructing this wall (it is now). The top edging is hundreds of K & L individual bricks (brick type B33) threaded onto 30 thou plastic rod. (These bricks are no longer available.) The capping stones on the pillars are filed up from 80 thou blanks.

The entire wall fits into its aperture on the layout at the moment, hence the slight gaps around its perimeter. These gaps won't be filled in until the wall has been painted.
