Engine shed

The framework is from 1.5mm and 2mm square plastic, the larger section being for the four corner posts, which slot into holes in the baseboard. The roof is from a Rix HO Quonset Hut kit. The shed is being clad in 'Eastwell Iron Works' corrugated copper sheets, obtained from Ambis Engineering.

The corrugated copper sheet was cut into strips and panels, and each bit etched (about 20 minutes or so in ferric chloride). The strips and panels were then soldered together with an RSU. For the roof panels, the corrugation pitch of the Rix HO kit roof matched the 4mm scale corrugated material perfectly, and the mouldings of the kit were used as a bending former.
